How DomainExchange.si works

A marketplace for .si domains only. Owners are verified, prices are set by sellers or agreed by offer, and every sale is paid through Escrow.com, for a low 5% fee from each side with Escrow.com’s fees included.

Buying a domain

Each name is either for sale at a fixed price, which you can buy instantly, or open to offers, which the seller can accept, decline or counter. Offers last 7 days. Once a price is agreed, we open an Escrow.com transaction and email you a link to it.

  1. 1

    Price agreed

A buyer buys at the fixed price, or an offer is accepted.

  2. 2

    Both sign on Escrow.com

Buyer and seller each accept the escrow terms.

  3. 3

    Buyer pays Escrow.com

The money is held by Escrow.com, not by the seller or us.

  4. 4

    Seller transfers the domain

    Only once payment is secured.

  5. 5

    Buyer confirms, seller is paid

    Escrow.com releases the funds.

Verified owners

Before a listing goes live, the seller has to prove they control the domain by making a small change that only the real owner can make. We check it again every day. If the proof disappears, the listing is hidden automatically. Every live listing carries the Verified owner mark.

Paying through Escrow.com

DomainExchange.si never holds money. When a deal is agreed, we create the Escrow.com transaction with you both and act as the broker. You agree to the terms on Escrow.com, the buyer pays Escrow.com, the seller transfers the domain, and the buyer confirms. Only then does Escrow.com pay the seller.

Escrow.com will ask both parties to log in or create an account with them. Inside the transaction, the buyer and seller can see each other’s contact details so the transfer can happen.

Transferring a .si domain

There are two ways to hand over a .si domain. If buyer and seller use the same registrar, the seller starts a holder change and both confirm the emails from the registry. Otherwise, the seller gives the buyer an authorisation code and the buyer moves the domain to their own registrar. Either way, the seller only does this after Escrow.com confirms the payment is secured.

Fees

Listing and offers
Free
Buyer
Pays the agreed price plus a 5% platform fee (minimum $25). There is no separate escrow fee.
Seller
Pays a 5% platform fee only when the domain sells (minimum $25). It comes out of the sale through Escrow.com.
Escrow.com
Its fees are included in the platform fees above. We pay them, not you. (Introductory rate.)

Selling

Sellers are approved by us before they can list, which keeps bad actors out. Once approved, list a name, verify it (we walk you through it), and choose either a fixed price that buyers can accept instantly, or offers (with an optional private minimum). Start selling.

Privacy

Everyone appears by screen name. We never show real names or email addresses on the site. When a deal is agreed, Escrow.com shares the parties’ details with each other inside the transaction.
